"Examination and Cross-Examination of Experts in Forensic Psychophysiology Using the Polygraph" Foreword: Hon. Vincent E. Doyle    I have known James Allan Matte, Ph.D., both when I was a practicing attorney and as a Judge for the better part of 30 years. He is one of the most knowledgeable experts I have ever met. His two previous works, The Art and Science of the Polygraph Technique and Forensic Psychophysiology Using The Polygraph: Scientific Truth Verification—Lie Detection, so impressed me that I wrote a Foreword to both those publications.    This most recent treatise is perhaps the most practical of them all. It is clear to those of us in the law that "expert evidence" is becoming more a part of each and every trial. The use of polygraph examination will continue to challenge the higher Courts as one side or the other seeks to offer results of the examination in evidence. This book tells those of us interested how to present the evidence as well as how to cross-examine the expert witness. Everyone involved will be able to better evaluate the reliability and probative value of psychophysiological veracity (PV) examinations after reading Dr. Matte’s work.    Thus, I urge students of this science as well as lawyers and Judges to read this well-written and comprehensive book.
